The exhibition Tropicália emphasizes the fusion of traditional Brazilian culture with foreign influences. Its
title refers to the Brazilian artistic movement that emerged in the late 1960s, encompassing art forms such
as theatre, poetry, and music. Through his paintings, the artist brings vivid colors, racial influences, and
the lush vegetation of his native country into dialogue with broader cultural contexts.
The exhibition questions the fusion of cultures around the world. Globalization, in relation to philosophy,
religion, language, the arts, and other cultural dimensions, has shaped societies for centuries. It remains
difficult to comprehend how, in the third millennium, some individuals still maintain retrograde racial
positions. The mixing of cultures and ethnicities is a global reality and contributes to the enrichment of
local cultures worldwide.

The exhibition is inspired by the photographic series Intervenções na Paisagem Nordestina by Daniel
Moraes and Thiago Borba.
