The exhibition Past Currents by Fabu Pires brings together a selection of works produced over the last decade, presenting ideas, materials, and visual strategies as spatial collages that trace the evolution of the artist’s practice.
Alongside paintings from previous exhibitions, the show includes collaborative works developed with local businesses, as well as previously unseen sketches and studies. Rather than functioning as a conventional retrospective, Past Currents reveals the interconnected flow between Pires’ autonomous artistic production and his applied projects, highlighting recurring symbols, hybrid figures, and layered compositions that have shaped his visual language over time.
Through this dialogue between past and present, personal and collaborative, the exhibition offers insight into the continuity, transformation, and expanding scope of the artist’s work.
